Kings Undone By Undead
The Kings found themselves in tough against a team of vampires in their third game of the IIHF World Oldtimers Championship. Every time the Kings looked like they were home free the "49 RAF squad would come back to life. Kings led 2-0 and RAF tied it up. With a little over 2 minutes to go the Kings , led by FLH Pete (2 goals, one on a sweet breakaway) and Faceplant ( 1 goal on a blast from the point and another that was deflected into the net), were up 4-2.

Then RAF crawled out of their tomb made it 4-3 and with one minute to go sent the game to a shootout. Big Billy stoned their first shooter and Eli scored to put the Kings back on top. Back come the RAF and tie the score with their last shooter. As the shootout moved to sudden death the RAF scored putting the pressure squarely on poor little Nutjob. Alas it was not to be , despite his shiftiest moves, Dracula the RAF goalie made the stop and ended the tournament for the Kings.

In all, a great effort 1 win and 2 shootout losses. Spanky did a first rate job as GM.

On another note this was quite possibly the last appearance in a Kings uniform for Billdozer, the Minder of the Kings goal since the very beginning, and a future Hall-of-Famer. Bill is moving on to a new adventure in the USA leaving behind a long legacy of great King victories and legendary collapses. This tournament was another one.

Best of luck Billy!
